Product Description

International Interlac 678 is a single component alkyd varnish with high gloss and good durability.

Best Uses

Interlac 678 is suitable for both interior and exterior wood work. It can be used for newbuilding, maintenance and repair or for on board maintenance.

Application

The recommended method of application for this product is Brush or Roller. However, Airless Spray and Conventional Spray are also suitable. Use in accordance with the standard Worldwide Marine Specifications.

Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry and free from contamination. High pressure fresh water wash or fresh water wash, as appropriate, and remove all oil or grease, soluble contaminants and other foreign matter in accordance with SSPC-SP1 solvent cleaning.

Surface Preparations

Newbuilding / Major Refurbishment
Ensure the wood is clean and dry prior to application. For new wood, it is recommended that the first coat is thinned 50% with GTA004 for maximum penetration into the wood.

Repair / OBM
Ensure the wood is clean and dry prior to application. Interlac 678 may be applied directly over aged Interlac 678 following thorough fresh water washing and degreasing, provided the coating to be overcoated is in an intact and tightly adherent condition. Loose or flaking coatings should be removed back to a firm edge and Interlac 678 or an appropriate primer should be used to repair the area before application of the full coat.

Priming Bare Wood
The addition of GTA004 may be required for the application of the first coat to new wood, 50% maximum by volume.
