Product Description

Protection Paints Zero-Mould is a high performance acrylic interior paint uniquely formulated to beautify and protect interior surfaces while preventing mould and mildew growth on the paint film. Zero-Mould produces a tough, durable, washable finish that withstands moisture and resists dirt pickup.

Best Uses

Protection Paints Zero-Mould is formulated for application to interior walls, wall cavities, ceilings, trim, doors and related paintable surfaces. Ideal for bathrooms, basements, kitchens, laundry rooms, closets, locker rooms, enclosed porches and pool areas or any interior where mould and mildew is a concern. Great for institutional or commercial use in schools, hospitals, hotels, nursing homes, restaurants, athletic facilities, etc.

Recommended for interior use on new or previously painted gypsum drywall, cured plaster, cement, poured concrete and stucco, concrete block, primed or previously painted wood and metal, paintable plastics, laminates, and other paintable surfaces.

  • Zero-Mould mould resistant interior paint contains a biocide that protects the dried coating against fungal degradation
  • The paint film is designed to resist cracking, peeling and blistering for up to 7 years with normal cleaning regime
  • Durable – washable, moisture resistant finish
  • Scrubbable – Class 1 Wet Scrub Rating (ISO 11998)
  • Available in a Satin or Matt finish. Tintable to colours from RAL Classic & BS4800
  • Water based, Low odour, fast drying – recoat in 4 hours.

Before applying Zero-Mould to bare plaster, it must first be sealed with a primer. Not suitable on lime plaster or lime renders.

Application

  • Mould Free Surfaces: Must be clean, dry, sound and free of dirt, dust, grease, wax, wallcovering adhesive, soap film, loose paint or other surface contamination. Wash surfaces with a degreaser & cleaner and rinse thoroughly.
  • Mould Contaminated Surfaces: Remove all existing mould and mildew before painting. Ensure surfaces are completely dry before painting with a maximum moisture content of 5%. If you are concerned about mould and mildew behind walls, underneath flooring, in ventilation systems or other unseen areas, contact a professional who specializes in mould and mildew remediation. For commercial buildings and schools follow appropriate guidelines for mould removal. Check for satisfactory paint adhesion. For more information contact our Technical Team.
  • Stains: Rust, tannin, grease, mould and mildew and other stains should be blocked with the appropriate stain killing primer-sealer. When priming over stained areas, first attempt to remove as much of the stain as possible by washing, sanding, scraping, etc.

Shake or stir well before using. Apply with synthetic bristle brush, short pile roller or mohair roller sleeve. For airless spraying, use a .017 tip and high medium (2000- 2600 PSI) pressure. Apply when air and surface temperatures are between 10°and 32°C and humidity is less than 80%. Zero-Mould is designed to be used as is. If thinning is necessary (such as with conventional sprayer applications), use only water and no more than 10% by volume.

Dries in 30 minutes. Apply a second coat after 4 hours. If used above tile on shower walls, wait at least 24 hours before using the shower. Do not scrub the new coating for seven days.
