Product Description

Tikkurila Betolux Akva Floor paint is highly versatile and quick drying, allowing fast turnaround and re-commissioning. The semi-gloss surface of Betolux Akva produces beautiful concrete and wooden floors.

Best Uses

Tikkurila Betolux Akva is best used on interior concrete and wooden floors and stairs in residential, commercial and storage premises. Also for use on concrete floors in saunas and humid spaces, as well as floors subjected to slight mechanical and chemical stress.

Application

The concrete surface must be dry and a minimum of 4 weeks old.

Concrete floors:

Remove the laitance with a grinding machine. Remove the sanding dust. Prime new concrete floors with a single coat of Betolux Akva Pohjuste OR Betolux Akva thinned 10% with water. Finish new and previously painted concrete floors with 2–3 coats of unthinned Betolux Akva. Use a short-pile roller or, for smaller surfaces, a synthetic brush

Wooden floors:

Remove all dirt, dust, grease and oil. Prime bare wood surfaces with 1–2 coats of Tikkurila Multistop insulation primer. For the best insulation results, perform the treatment two times. Finish with 2–3 coats of unthinned Betolux Akva. Use a synthetic brush.

Please note: The paint will dry quickly, so plan your work so as to avoid visible overlapping. Work lengthwise along the boards, treating a few boards at a time. Any patching up should be done when the surface has dried.

Previously painted floors:

Wash with Tikkurila Cleaning Agent Maalipesu cleaning agent diluted with water to a ratio 1:5 and rinse carefully with water. Allow to dry. Remove the old, loose paint. Sand the surfaces thoroughly and remove the sanding dust.
