The final finish of Traditional Barn Paint is similar to that of a chalkboard with a matt finish suitable for application to a variety of external buildings, including stables, outbuildings, sheds, silos, windmills and barn conversions. This high quality product, can be applied to a range of different surfaces too, including cladding, weatherboard, feather edge board as well as steel and metallic substrates which should first be applied with a suitable oxide primer. When purchasing an external barn paint you need to be sure you are buying a product that will last a long time. By doing this you will save money and time in the long run by extending the life and reducing the costs of maintenance. External paints suffer constant exposure to weathering and outdoor conditions. Henceforth, barns require highly protective coatings.
Traditional Barn Paint's formulation includes natural zinc oxide. This offers long term protection against fungal and insect attack. These kind of attacks can cause damage to the substrate and result in external contamination entering a building. Zinc Oxide is one of the best natural pesticides available.
Unlike other conventional Barn Paints, Traditional Barn Paint will not crack, flake or peel over time. This usually happens after exposure to natural atmospheric conditions, such as moisture or humidity. This barn paint will remain strong over time and bonds especially well to cladding surfaces. Furthermore, it protects with a degree of flexibility that moves with the surface.
The recommended application for Traditional Barn Paint is either brush or medium pile roller. It is recommended that you use a three coat system, consisting of 1 x priming coat, followed by 2 x full coats.
